To Vince, Tina, Vito, Simplicio, Raffaele and family,

I just learned today of Cherry’s passing. We have lost an amazing, sweet, caring lady, and heaven has gained an angel. I can’t say enough of what she meant to those who were lucky to have known her. She will be missed, and always hold a special place in my heart.

I have been fortunate enough to have been a customer at La Casa for over 25 years and I tried to bring a new person with me on every visit. Some new friends, some new visitors and some just appreciators such as myself. Vince and Pina were always more than welcoming every time I walked into the palace. With kind words and terms of affection, they made it a pleasure to share their place with me and my guests. Please take care of one another during your sadness of this recent passing, but know that she was well loved by all who met her. Love and light.

I am so saddened to hear the news of Cherry's passing. She was such a wonderful woman and the family has been a part of the community for so long now. I wish the Misceo family the strength to come together for the holidays as I am sure it will be difficult, and the peace knowing that her spirit will live on through her children and grandchildren. Rest in peace sweet Cherry xoxoxoxo

I have gone to La Casa Gelato since I was a little kid and Cherry’s kind and welcoming smile was always such an important part of each visit over the years. She has been such a staple of the neighbourhood and has contributed to many happy memories for countless locals and tourists alike. I’m saddened to hear the news and send my condolences to her family and all the people she touched. It won’t be the same without her but I won’t forget her, either.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Pina was the light of your store, always smiling! As my kids were growing up we always made the trek ( we live in Aldergrove) into your store for your tasty treats, they loved trying all the flavours! Now as adults we still come in the only difference is now I can usually talk one of them into driving! 😬 Love this place and we will miss Pinas presence for sure!

I remember when I first met Pina, I was 12 years old. The family had just opened La Casa on Commercial St. Pina was behind the counter making my dad an espresso. Pina had the sweetest smile and the easiest demeanour to be around. For many years I felt like part of her family and one of her children. Over the years I would think about her, and what a great influence and strong woman I had in my life growing up as a teenager. I wish I had gotten the chance to tell her that. May she Rest In Peace and light. Condolences to the entire family.

Our deepest condolences to Vince and the family in this time of grief. Pina was a beautiful lady and full of life. It was always a treat to walk into La Casa Gelato and see her and Vince working side by side. Her smile brightened up the room. I know your hearts are breaking as you mourn the loss of the love of your life, Vince; and the greatest Mama and Nona, but know that she will ALWAYS be with you and is always listening to you. I pray that God will comfort and keep you in His arms, now and always. With love, The Savage Family

My heart goes out to everyone lucky enough to know Pina, is my brothers godmother and the grandma I never had.
My mom worked with her for years while raising 2 boys on her own. Even though we moved to Toronto many years ago I never forgot about this family and how amazing they are, I know that she will be greeted in heaven by my mom with much love. My condolences to the family.
Love Andy.

I was very sad to learn of the passing of Giuseppina Misceo. She was la faccia sorridente... la mamma accogliente of La Casa Gelato.
I have very fond memories of our many visits over the years to La Casa Gelato, especially when our daughter was little. Pina was always there, leaning over the counter smiling down at our daughter who she treated to "baby nones"... My daughter was too young to pronounce "cones" properly.
There must have been 100s, more likely 1000s, of little visitors who were welcomed to the wonderful world of gelato in this way. Giuseppina was the quintessential Italian Mamma and then Nonna, not only to her family, but also to her customers.
Cara Giuseppina, grazie infinite per la tua gentilezza. Ci mancherai. Riposati in pace.
Our condolences to Vince and all the Misceo family.

Sincerely,

James Johnstone

My condolences for the family and workers of La Casa Gelato.

We have been there only once as we are New Zealanders. We found actually that this place was the best of all. We met there the great people of workers, and of course Pina. It was marvelous to talk to her, and not only about gelato...

Pina was so kind to allow me to record her on video, so I could later on put it on our social media groups so other Kiwis who visit Vancouver will enjoy, too.

I wish there was a way to share that video clip in here with you.

Oh gosh, mama Gelato... we saw her at least once on a christmas-time escape to Hawaii - we ooohed and ahhed with her about LaCasa's wonderful gelato and that my nephew and niece from Hawaii make it a MUST-STOP each visit to Vancouver (well, two or three stops actually). She will be missed... much aloha from the Quans of Vancouver, Victoria and Hawaii

She was always so kind and generous, with a beautiful smile for everyone. I am so very sorry for the Misceo family and send my heartfelt condolences to Vince, Vito, Tina and the rest of the family.
